BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton gets a mostly sunny Saturday near the mid 70s, then rain chances tick up Sunday before gusty winds, cooler air, and rougher ocean conditions arrive Sunday night into early next week.
Today’s Weather – Saturday, January 17, 2026
Boca Raton starts the day in that classic January in Florida sweet spot. The National Weather Service forecast for 2 miles ESE of Boca Raton Airport calls for mostly sunny skies today and a high near 76 degrees. It is not the kind of day that feels like summer, but it is not the heavy, damp chill either. More like the version of “cold” we can live with.
Winds stay light for most of the day, starting out of the north around 7 mph, then shifting around and turning southeast this afternoon. Along the I 95 corridor and out toward Glades Road and Lyons Road, it should feel comfortable in the sun, with enough of a breeze at times to keep it from getting stuffy. If you are heading toward the Intracoastal or the beach, expect a similar setup, bright skies and a light breeze that turns more onshore later in the day.
The broader South Florida pattern behind this is simple. High pressure is in control today, keeping things mainly dry and allowing temperatures to moderate into the mid to upper 70s across the region. Forecasters noted there could be just a brief, short lived shower near the east coast and Atlantic waters later today as moisture increases. The odds remain low, and anything that pops up would be quick.
Beachgoers should keep one thing in mind. The National Weather Service says a moderate risk of rip currents remains in place across the Atlantic coast beaches today. That matters in Boca, especially on a weekend when people see sunshine and assume conditions are calm. Even when the sky looks perfect, the water can still be working. Swim near a lifeguard if you go in.
On the water, the marine forecast for the coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach out 20 nautical miles calls for southeast winds 5 to 10 knots today. Seas run 2 to 4 feet, occasionally up to 5 feet. Intracoastal waters are expected to have light chop. There is also a slight chance of showers late this morning and afternoon.
Tonight turns quieter and stays mild. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and a low around 64 degrees. East winds run around 6 mph before becoming light and variable.
The timing also lines up well for outdoor plans in West Boca, including the South Florida Strawberry Festival this weekend. Mostly sunny skies, temperatures in the mid to upper 70s today, and light winds should make for comfortable conditions at South County Regional Park, with no significant weather issues expected until rain chances increase later on Sunday.
