BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton gets a sunny but blustery Tuesday with highs in the mid 60s and a high rip current risk at the beaches through the evening.
Today’s Weather – Tuesday, January 27, 2026
Boca Raton wakes up to the kind of weather that looks perfect through a windshield and feels a lot sharper once you step outside.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for sunshine today with a high near 66 degrees. The bigger story is the wind. A north wind is expected at 16 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Along the I 95 corridor and open east west stretches like Glades Road, that breeze will be noticeable. Near the Intracoastal and at the beaches, it will feel even more raw, especially in the morning hours.
Rain is not part of today’s picture. It is straight sun, dry air, and wind. If you are running errands, the afternoon may feel more comfortable than the early morning, but it stays breezy.
Beach conditions are a different conversation. A Rip Current Statement remains in effect for Coastal Palm Beach County, with a high rip current risk through Tuesday evening. The warning is direct: dangerous rip currents are expected, and the risk is high enough that even strong swimmers can get pulled away from shore into deeper water. If you are heading to the sand in Boca, the safest move is swimming near a lifeguard. If you get caught in a rip current, the guidance is to relax and float, do not fight straight against it, and try to move parallel to the shoreline if you can. If you cannot get out, face the shore and wave or call for help.
For boaters and anyone watching the ocean from the jetties, the marine forecast underscores why the surf is so rough. For the coastal waters off Boca and the stretch from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach, conditions are hazardous. Today, north winds are expected around 25 to 30 knots early, diminishing to 15 to 20 knots. Seas are forecast at 9 to 13 feet, occasionally up to 17 feet, subsiding later to 7 to 10 feet with occasional 13 footers. Intracoastal waters are expected to be rough.
Tonight stays quiet and clear on land, but still windy. The forecast calls for mostly clear skies with a low around 53. North wind remains around 15 mph with gusts up to 21 mph. If you are out late, it will feel cooler fast once the sun is down, especially in open areas and west of the Turnpike where the breeze has less to break it up.
