WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A driver fled the scene after a two-vehicle crash early February 28 at the intersection of Forest Hill Boulevard and Military Trail in West Palm Beach, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say the crash occurred around 4:08 a.m. in the center southbound lane of Military Trail at Forest Hill Boulevard. A 2020 Honda Accord was stopped stationary in the center lane of southbound Military Trail at the intersection. A 2013 Toyota Highlander was traveling southbound on Military Trail approaching the rear of the Honda.

According to PBSO, the driver of the Toyota failed to decelerate or take evasive action and the front of the Toyota impacted the rear of the Honda. Both vehicles were projected south during the collision. The Toyota came to rest on the western side of the intersection facing south. While traveling south, the Honda rotated 180 degrees and came to rest in the southwest corner of the intersection facing north.

Investigators said the driver of the Toyota fled the scene eastbound on foot prior to the arrival of law enforcement. The driver was last observed wearing a pink shirt and white pants and running east on Forest Hill Boulevard from Military Trail.

The Honda was occupied by 48-year-old Amando Dinzey of Port Saint Lucie, who was driving, and 49-year-old passenger Elba Torres, also of Port Saint Lucie. Both were wearing seatbelts, according to investigators.

Dinzey was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center with critical injuries. Torres was also transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center and sustained serious injuries.

Both vehicles were recovered from the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division.
