Medhi Khan Arrested For Reckless Driving And Eluding Police

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Boca Post) — A Boca Raton man was arrested after he was observed doing multiple donuts in the middle of the street full of people in a place commonly known as a meetup for car enthusiasts in Palm Beach County.

PBSO has been cracking down on street racing and aggressive driving as it is becoming a major problem on Palm Beach County streets. Medhi Kahn, 24, of the 1500 block of SW 65th Ave in the Boca Dunes community in West Boca Raton, was a recent arrest by the department who has been making it known that they will not put up with the street racing.

According to arrest paperwork submitted by PBSO, deputies responded to a scene of 100s of people in the streets near Wabasso Dr. and Westgate Ave. in unincorporated Palm Beach County near the airport. The aviation unit reported to deputies on the ground that a red Ford Mustang was performing donuts in the middle of the intersection. Deputies report that over 100 people were blocking the intersection, just feet from the Mustang as it recklessly did donuts.

When the marked PBSO patrol unit approached the scene with lights and sirens on, the deputy says he saw the Mustang’s nose lift up as it accelerated towards him at a high rate of speed. The deputy says he quickly turned around and tried to pull the Mustang over but had to turn off his lights and sirens and disengage for public safety.

Shortly after that, Khan was pulled over near the Palm Beach Kennel Club at 1111 N Congress Ave.

Medhi Khan was booked into the PBSO jail at 10:03 PM and released the following morning on a $3,000 bond. Khan is facing the following criminal traffic charges:

  • FLEE/ELUDE POLICE – FLEE ELUDE LEO WITH LIGHTS SIREN ACTIVE
  • MOVING TRAFFIC VIOL – RECKLESS DRIVING 1ST OFF

Many car enthusiasts in the Palm Beach County car scene say that they have nowhere to go to legally race their vehicles. With the closing of Palm Beach International Raceway, formerly Moroso Motorsports Park, in April of 2022, there has been an uptick in street racing incidents in Palm Beach County.

Clearly, local law enforcement agrees, as Boca Post recently reported on PBSO To Conduct High Visibility Enforcement For Next 10 Months. We reported on how PBSO, the biggest law enforcement agency and largest expense to PBC taxpayers, is funding this high-visibility enforcement through a contract with the University of North Florida and the Florida Department of Transportation.
