BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Boca Raton will run mostly sunny and breezy today with only a small shot at a brief shower or afternoon thunderstorm, then turns mostly cloudy tonight.

Today’s Weather — Thursday, December 18, 2025

If you’re heading out early, the day starts calm-looking, but don’t let the blue sky fool you into thinking it’s a dead-quiet weather day.

The National Weather Service forecast for Boca Raton calls for mostly sunny conditions today with a high near 80 degrees, but there’s still a slight chance of showers, and thunderstorms are also possible after 1 p.m. It’s not a washout setup — not even close — but it’s enough to keep an eye on the sky if you’re outside in the afternoon, especially along the beaches or anywhere you’re exposed for long stretches.

The bigger headline for a lot of people today may be the wind. Expect a southeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. That’s the kind of steady breeze you’ll notice driving the I-95 corridor, walking the paths near the Intracoastal, or running errands around Glades Road where the open stretches can feel a little punchier when gusts hit. If you’re near the coast, you’ll feel it more — the air has that “moving” quality all day, the kind that flips hair and tugs at umbrellas.

Rain chances stay low overall. The forecast puts the chance of precipitation at 20%, and the timing is pretty specific: showers are possible, and thunderstorms become possible after 1 p.m. That means most of the day should stay dry for most people, but one quick hit is possible, the kind that can briefly dampen sidewalks and send people ducking under awnings, then clears out.

Tonight, clouds take over more of the sky. The forecast calls for mostly cloudy conditions with a low around 72 degrees. Winds ease and swing a bit, turning south at 7 to 10 mph. In other words, the evening won’t feel chilly by any stretch, but it’ll look different from the brighter daytime sky. If you’re out late — especially in the western suburbs around Lyons Road — it should stay mild, quiet, and cloudy.

Current Advisories / Watches / Warnings

The National Weather Service lists a Rip Current Statement until December 18, 07:00 PM EST.
