Pedestrian Killed In Tamarac Crash

TAMARAC, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — The Traffic Homicide Unit of the Broward Sheriff’s Office is currently looking into an accident, in Tamarac that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

At 6;17 a.m on Wednesday morning of September 4th in Broward County Region Communication was alerted about a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian near the intersection of North State Road 7 and West Commercial Boulevard in Tamarac area which prompted the response of BSO deputies along with Tamarac Fire Rescue and traffic homicide investigators, to the location.

The initial inquiry showed that the pedestrian named Andre Jarrett was crossing from west to east on North State Road 7 quite a distance away from a crosswalk. In the meantime the driver of a 2016 Toyota Corolla by the name of Aramus Pierre was heading south on North State Road 7 as he neared the junction, with West Commercial Boulevard and moved into the left turn lane on the side. Unfortunately, the driver failed to notice the pedestrian while driving south and collided with him within the left turn lane. The person driving the car stayed at the scene. Helped with the investigation.

Jarrett was taken by Tamarac Fire Rescue to Broward Health Medical Center where he was later declared deceased, by the authorities in charge of the situation at that time the incident occurred Neither impairment of the drivers speed nor any mechanical malfunction were found to be factors contributing to the accident.
