BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are asking the public to help identify and locate a person they say is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in unincorporated Central Broward, releasing a photo as the investigation continues.
The case centers on the death of Nathaniel Forrest, 35, who investigators say was shot on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, near the 900 block of Northwest 24th Avenue. Deputies were dispatched to the area at about 9:42 p.m. after a ShotSpotter alert, a gunfire detection notification used to flag possible shooting activity.
When deputies arrived, investigators said they found Forrest suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Deputies began life-saving measures on scene while medical help responded. Forrest was transported by Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue to Broward Health Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
No suspect has been publicly identified. Detectives described the person in the released photo as an individual wanted in connection with the murder and said they are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the subject.
