POMPANO BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — Two men dead after an altercation inside of a Pompano Beach convenience store on Christmas evening.

The Homicide Unit detectives of the Broward Sheriffs Office are currently investigating a shooting incident that resulted in the deaths of two men on the evening of Christmas, in Pompano Beach.

Around 7;21 p.m. On Monday December 25th deputies from the Pompano Beach District of the Broward Sheriffs Office were called to the 400 block of Northwest 27th Avenue due to reports of a gathering of people and vehicles causing road obstructions. At 8;40 p.m. deputies responded to a convenience store located at 401 Northwest 27th Ave. In Pompano Beach, where they discovered two adult males named Quaavon Ellis and Brandon McNair inside the establishment with gunshot injuries. Immediate life saving measures were initiated by deputies. Both individuals were swiftly transported by paramedics from Pompano Beach Fire Rescue to a hospital. Unfortunately despite these efforts both victims were pronounced deceased. In response to this event, BSOs Homicide and Crime Scene units have been dispatched to investigate the circumstances surrounding this shooting incident.

Based on findings from their investigation it has been revealed that an altercation took place between the shooter and the two victims within the store premises leading to gunfire. The shooter was promptly apprehended at the scene for questioning by law enforcement officials; however as per information available detectives do not believe there were any individuals involved as shooters, in this incident. Once their investigation is concluded homicide detectives will present their findings to Broward County State Attorneys Office for review.
