Phillipe Madeira Of Boca Raton Passes Away After Deadly Motorcycle Accident

POMPANO BEACH, FL (Boca Post) — The Broward Sheriff’s Office tells Boca Post that they are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that killed 19-year-old Phillipe Madeira from Boca Raton.

Broward Sheriff’s Office tells Boca Post detectives are investigating a fatal crash that occurred just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022.

Investigators say that motorcyclist riding a Kawasaki EX300-B was headed south on North Powerline Road approaching Northwest 21st Street.

At the same time, a Ford Transit van (Broward County TOPS Paratransit) was traveling north on North Powerline Road and was also approaching Northwest 21st Street.

The bus driver, Eleazard Toussaint, proceeded to make a left turn onto Northwest 21st Street. As the bus made a left turn, the Kawasaki, driven by Phillipe Madeira, crashed into the passenger side of the bus. The bus came to a stop and Madeira was ejected from the Kawasaki.

Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded and pronounced Madeira deceased. No injuries were reported from the bus driver who according to Broward County Transportation Department officials is a contract employee. No passengers were onboard at the time.

Detectives suspect that excessive speed on the part of the motorcyclist may have contributed to the crash. Their investigation continues.
