GREENACRES, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Two women were killed in a shooting Monday morning in the 500 block of Shady Pine Way in Greenacres, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded shortly after 7:00 a.m. to reports of shots fired. When they arrived, investigators found one woman dead at the scene. A second woman was located suffering from gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

PBSO said the suspect retreated into a nearby residence following the shooting. Deputies attempted to make contact and asked the suspect to exit the home, but received no response. The PBSO SWAT Team was then requested to respond.

During SWAT’s assessment, investigators determined the suspect was no longer a threat, the sheriff’s office said.

Detectives with the Violent Crimes Division remain on scene executing a residential search warrant. The investigation is active and ongoing.

Authorities emphasized there is no threat to the community at this time. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division executed the residential search warrant and located the suspect deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Both victims and the suspect were known to one another.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.

UPDATE 1/27/26 - 4:46 PM EST

PBSO identified the victims as Brianna Rodriguez-Quintana, born Sept. 30, 2000, and Milvia Quintana-Placeres, born May 1, 1966. Investigators identified the suspect as Juan Estevez-Mesa, born April 18, 1965.

All three were reported to reside at 501 Shady Pine Way, Unit C2, in Greenacres, according to investigators.
