PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Detectives with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office are asking the public for help identifying a vehicle connected to an act of animal cruelty reported in The Acreage late last week.

According to investigators, the incident happened on December 26, 2025, at the intersection of Avocado Boulevard and 60th Street.

Authorities say a vehicle stopped at the intersection. The occupants got out. A chicken was set on fire. The vehicle then fled the area.

The animal ran from the intersection and later died a short distance away, deputies said.

Detectives believe the vehicle pictured in released images is directly connected to the incident and may be able to lead them to those responsible. No suspect descriptions have been released, and investigators have not said how many people were inside the vehicle at the time.

The case is being handled by the Sheriff’s Office Animal Crimes Unit.

Investigators are urging anyone who recognizes the vehicle or has information about the incident to come forward. Tips can be submitted directly to Detective C. Kovacs with the Animal Crimes Unit or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

The Sheriff’s Office is also encouraging residents to use its mobile app to submit information without revealing their identity.

Animal cruelty cases are investigated as criminal offenses under Florida law. Detectives say even small details could help move the investigation forward.
