Pedestrian Hit, Critical Injuries In Coconut Creek

UPDATE
Coconut Creek Police have re-opened all southbound lanes of traffic on Lyons road and Winston Park boulevard following an early morning vehicle-vs-pedestrian accident.
All southbound lanes in the 5400 block of Lyons Road have reopened.
The pedestrian who got hit sustained non-life threatening injuries. Coconut Creek Police say the crash investigation is ongoing.

COCONUT CREEK, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — Coconut Creek Police have shut down two southbound lanes of traffic on Lyons road to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian that happened just after 5 AM.
Police tell us that the victim was an adult male and that he was taken to Broward Health North for treatment of his injuries.
The driver remained at the scene.
Police are advising that investigators are on the scene investigating the circumstances around the accident
Two lanes of Lyons Road southbound in that area are closed right now so officers can safely conduct their investigation. The flow of traffic will be impacted. Plan for more time to drive through that area this morning or pick an alternate route.
