BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — Boca Raton local David Morrison faces a charge of child abuse after attending a Halloween party at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School.

Just before the incident, a police report filed by Boca Raton Police states that there were many children grabbing the tail of a child in a dinosaur costume. During this, the boy turned around, hitting another child – Morrison’s daughter, in the face causing her to fall.

Afterward, Morrison began yelling at the boy while also attempting to remove his costume.

Witness Jessica Soupart discusses the incident with the investigating officer.

“Jessica advised that she observed David yelling at (the boy) to take his costume off and saw him forcefully trying to pull the boy’s costume off,” the officer said. “Jessica then stated that she observed David put his hands on the boy’s shoulders ‘viciously’ and was asking him where his parents were and started to pull him away while holding his shoulders. Jessica mentioned at this point, she stepped in and told David to take his hands off of the child, in which he did.”

Soupart remains the only witness from the Halloween party to come forward about the incident, despite there being a police officer and multiple parents, children, teachers, and other staff from the school in attendance.

Boca Raton police, after receiving the witness statement, arrested Morrison at his home after the Halloween party, charging him with child abuse.

Morrison’s defense attorney, Brandon Dinetz limited his comment to: “I hope they do not file.”

  1. Wow!! Any parent would be upset that a boy hit their daughter in the face. Was it intentional? If anyone should be disciplined it should be the boy who hit a girl in the face. Where were his parents? The parents should be watching their boy at a school function. Shame on Boca PD if this id the whole story
