10-Year-Old Boy Injured In Pompano Beach Drive-By-Shooting

POMPANO BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — A 10-year-old boy was injured in a drive-by-shooting in front of a Pompano Beach home.

A 10-year-old boy was injured in a drive by shooting and detectives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the shooter and vehicle involved. The incident took place around 6;35 p.m. On Thursday, March 21, near the 300 block of Northwest 18th Avenue in Pompano Beach.

Surveillance footage captured the child playing basketball while crossing the street. A person wearing a green hoodie and black pants on a scooter approached, followed by a gray sedan that passed by and shots were fired.

The video shows the scooter rider falling to the ground while the boy runs away. The car then drove off towards north.

BSO deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to the scene. The child was taken to a nearby hospital with non life threatening injuries. Investigators confirmed no other injuries were reported.
