Detectives say that, before 12:30 a.m. That morning Joseph Henriquez was riding his bicycle westbound within the median break on North Palm Aire Drive. At that instant a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer, also traveling westbound on the road struck him from, behind. The impact flung Henriquez off his bike into the lanes. He was rushed to Broward Health North for treatment. On Oct. 13 he succumbed to the injuries he had sustained.

Once the collision unfolded the Trailblazer’s operator kept rolling only to swing back to the wreckage before disappearing from the locale. Officers canvassed the neighborhood in pursuit of the vehicle eventually pinpointing it at 3621 Oaks Clubhouse Dr. Detectives report that Marcus confessed to being behind the wheel of the Trailblazer. Acknowledged his role, in the incident.

In the wake of the inquiry detectives apprehended Sholom Marcus on Oct. 12 alleging he fled or failed to linger at the crash scene that inflicted bodily harm. Once the injured party passed away prosecutors upgraded the allegation to leaving the scene of a crash that caused death.
