LOXAHATCHEE, FL (Boca Post) — Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office has confirmed with Boca Post that a 45-year-old man has been killed in an ATV accident in Loxahatchee last night near the 4956 block of 200th Trail.

An investigator with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says:

Tammy Rubio, 57, from Wellington, was traveling southbound in the 4900 block of 200th Trail North on a green 2020 Suzuki King Quad. Harry Skinner, 45, of Loxahatchee, was traveling southbound in the 4900 block of 200th Trail North, directly behind Rubio on a black 2020 Suzuki King Quad.

As Rubio was traveling southbound she neared a large puddle of water, at which time Skinner attempted to overtake on the left, traveling faster than Rubio.

As Skinner and Rubio both entered the large puddle in the roadway, Rubio for undetermined reasons overturned (ejecting its passengers), right after which Skinner overturned and caused his ejection

Rubio and Cori McHugh, 30, of Wellington, were thrown to the roadway surface and received minor injuries.

Skinner was thrown to the surface of the roadway during which he received facial and head injuries. Skinner was pronounced deceased by Palm Beach County fire rescue on the scene.

Of course, the Loxahatchee roads, like many roads in Boca Raton, were flooded following a large amount of rain we received from what is now Tropical Storm Alex.
