West Palm Beach, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — PBSO tells Boca Post that a Pompano Beach man suspected of impairment hit and killed a teenager on a bicycle in West Palm Beach this morning at about 5am.
Wilfredo Luis Colon, 25, of Pompano Beach, was driving north on S. Military Trail just past the Summit Boulevard when he ran in to a 15 year old on a bicycle who was heading the same direction. The teenager was struck from behind in Colon’s 2018 Infiniti Q50 and dragged for several feet after impact.
Colon left the scene and parked a nearby parking lot; however, he returned to the scene. Authorities say impairment is suspected and charges are pending.
The accident occurred at about 5am this morning so visibility could have been a factor as well. Several witnesses of the accident say that the teenager was wearing dark clothing without any lights on his bicycle.
A check of the PBSO booking blotter did not yet show any arrest; however, traffic homicide cases tend to take some time.

We are beyond devastated by the tragic loss of our beloved child/nephew Jonathan Joshua Corpin. He was only 15, he was an artist, writer, and athlete. He was riding his bike this morning when a drunk driver stole him from us forever. We are in the process of making travel/funeral arrangements. We welcome all support, please reach out, especially if you’d like to attend his service or have stories/pictures of him to share. This is more than any parent and family should bare. We are also asking for donations to help address expenses associated with all of this. If it’s in your heart to help us financially survive this tragedy, we have setup a cashapp. $JJCorpinFund
