ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — 37 Rolando Rancano of Labelle is dead after he crashed a stolen Audi into a pickup truck.

A 2019 Audi S5 was reported as stolen from the Publix (11977 Southern Boulevard), at approximately 2:35 p.m on Monday, March 11th, 2024.

However, the stolen vehicle was never entered into the proper systems because it was found after it crashed into another vehicle down the street only 6 minutes later.

Deputies say that Rolando Rancano, 37, of Labelle, FL, was driving the stolen Audi S5 south on Ponce De Leon Street, traversing the intersection of Madrid Street at a high rate of speed.

At the same time, a Nissan Titan was traveling north on Ponce De Leon Street, approaching the 255 block.

Rancano continued south, through the intersection and towards the 255 block of Ponce De Leon Street. As the Audi neared the 255 block, the roadway began a sweeping right hand curve, which Rancano was traveling too fast to safely negotiate.

As the Audi entered the apex of the right hand curve, it crossed over the double yellow center line, and into the path of travel of the truck, thus the collision ensued.

During the collision, the front of the Audi impacted the front of the Titan.

Post impact, the stolen Audi rotated clockwise to final rest, within the front swail of 255 Ponce De Leon Street, facing west.

Post impact, the Nissan Titan rotated counter clockwise, articulating 90 degrees from the attached trailer, coming to final rest within the northbound lane of travel of Ponce De Leon Street, facing east.

Rancano was pronounced deceased on scene by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. The driver of the Nissan truck and the two passengers were transported to Saint Mary’s Medical Center for injuries received during the collision.
