LANTANA, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A Lake Worth man was killed after his truck was struck by a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed.

According to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, Francois Nicolas was driving southbound on Teakwood Road while approaching Lantana Road when he was slammed by a Chrysler 300 driven by 20-year-old Dominic Dixon.

Dixon was traveling westbound on Lantana Road at a high rate of speed in the inside (number 1) lane approaching Teakwood Road. At the same time, Nicolas was traveling southbound on Teakwood Road, attempting to cross over Lantana Road. The front of Dixon’s Chrysler 300 front struck the driver’s side of Nicolas’ truck.

As the crash ensued, Nicolas’ truck was redirected in a northwestern direction before flipping on its side, then rolling over.

Nicolas was pronounced deceased on the scene by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. Dixon and his passenger were transported by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue to Delray Medical Center with serious injuries.

Deputies indicated that charges are pending against Dixon, who they say was driving at a high rate of speed prior to the deadly crash.
