DAY ONE: Palm Beach County School Bus Rear-Ended In Lake Worth Beach
LAKE WORTH, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — A Palm Beach County School bus was rear-ended by a teenage driver in Lake Worth Beach on the first day of school.
UPDATE
A Palm Beach County School bus was traveling westbound on 6th Avenue S within the outside lane of travel. A Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 16-year-old, was traveling westbound on 6th Avenue S within the outside lane of travel.
The bus came to a stop east of the railroad track crossing for a safety stop check with its safety lights activated prior to crossing the tracks. The Malibu failed to stop and crashed into the rear of the bus.
Investigators say that the bus driver did not realize the crash occurred. After completing the safety check, the bus driver proceeded westbound crossing the tracks and dragging the Malibu.
After crossing the tracks, the bus driver realized the Malibu had crashed into the rear of the bus and came to a controlled stop west of the railroad tracks.
Both driver and passenger of the Malibu were transported to St Mary’s Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The bus driver and the single passenger on the bus were not injured.

PBSO tells Boca Post the crash was reported just before 7 AM on I95 northbound near Lantana Road.
Boca Post has confirmed one child was on the bus at the time and is unharmed.
The accident is blocking portions of I-95 northbound near Lantana road.
