Stacey Abo Of Lake Worth In Critical Condition After Being Hit By Truck

LAKE WORTH, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — 65-year-old Stacey Abo of Lake Worth was crossing 10th Avenue in the crosswalk when she was struck by a red truck that then fled the scene, leaving her in critical condition.
A red Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound on 10th Avenue North approaching the intersection of Boutwell Road. At the same time, Stacey Abo was on foot attempting to cross 10th Avenue North (within the pedestrian crosswalk) from the northeast corner of the intersection to the southeast corner of the intersection.
As the truck entered and traversed the intersection and continued eastbound, Abo continued crossing the roadway and was struck by the truck.
After the impact with the truck, Abo was thrown to the pavement and came to rest upon the southern shoulder of the outside lane of eastbound 10th Avenue North. After the impact with Abo, the truck continued eastbound on 10th Avenue North and left the area.
The truck was identified as a late model red Ford F-150 (truck), with possible damage to the passenger side front quarter panel and grill area.
Abo was transported to Saint Mary’s Medical Center with serious bodily injuries. PBSO road patrol deputies quickly located the truck, which was abandoned in a nearby industrial area. This investigation is ongoing.
