Antonio Marcos Passed Away

LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A Lake Worth Beach man was crossing 6th Ave. S when he was struck by a car on Monday, June 26th, 2023.

The accident happened just after 4 AM on Monday, June 26th, 2023. According to PBSO, 27-year-old Antonio Marcos was attempting to cross 6th Avenue S, just east of the intersection of F Street, from south to north. Deputies say Marcos was wearing dark non-reflective clothing.

At the same time, Sonia Maribel Lopez Mendez was traveling westbound on 6th Avenue S within the outside lane, approaching the intersection of F Street.

As Mendez continued westbound, Marcos entered the outside lane of travel violating Mendez’s right of way, and thus the collision ensued.

During the collision, the front left corner of Mendez’s vehicle impacted the right side of Marcos, vaulting him onto the roadway.

Post impact, Mendez immediately made a U-turn and stopped at the area of the impact.

For injuries received during a collision, Marcos was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center where he died the following day.
