Enzo Colas Charged With Two Counts Of Possession Of Child P*Rn
JUPITER, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — Enzo Colas of Jupiter has been arrested and charged with two counts of possession of child p*rn, according to jail records released to Boca Post by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Enzo Daniel Bernard Colas, 19, of the 500 block of Rookery Place in the Egret Landing community of Jupiter, has been arrested Tuesday evening by the Jupiter Police Department. Boca Post has been notified that Colas is charged with two counts of “OBSCENE MATERIAL-POSSESS – POSS CONTROL VIEW DEPICTION CHILD SEX CONDUCT”.
According to the probable cause affidavit submitted by the Jupiter Police Department, an investigation was initiated in January of 2022 following a Cyber TIP from the NCMEC (National Center of Missing and Exploited Children).
Detectives received information originating from SnapChat that an account, which they later determined to belong to Colas, was transferring what was determined to be child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to and from other Snapchat accounts. Detectives identified at least 12 articles of CSAM saved under Colas’ “Chat Media”.
When officers asked Enzo about the suspected CSAM, he stated that was a dark time in his life, and he was exploring his sexuality. He advised that he was searching a Snapchat for gays website and joined a group with other people. He advised they shared a link with him and told him to download Mega to get photos, which he did. He advised that the photos and videos were bad. Enzo advised that he deleted the images from the Mega account shortly after.
Jupiter Police executed a search warrant at the home in Egret Landing where they spoke to Enzo about their suspicions. During the search of the home, they located one device with multiple articles of CSAM. The content on that device was in addition to what was originally reported on Snapchat.
Officers say they never did find the images that were originally reported on Snapchat.
Colas was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 6:39 on Tuesday evening. Colas appeared in court on Wednesday morning where the judge ordered that he has no contact with anyone under the age of 18, and no access to a computer, a smart device, a storage device, or the internet. The judge set Colas’ bond at $20,000 and he was released from Jail later that evening.
