BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Boca Raton is tuning up for an encore celebration of its 100th birthday — and this one promises to strike all the right notes.

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, the Festival BOCA Jazz Orchestra returns to the stage for the Encore Centennial Concert: Through the Decades, a free community performance presented by the City of Boca Raton. The doors will open at 7 p.m. before the performance starts at 8 p.m.

The event presents a reenactment of the acclaimed concert which debuted at the Festival of the Arts BOCA in March through a combination of live music with historical footage and photographic images and recorded audio from Boca Raton’s past. Kyle Prescott led the performance which used jazz and big band music and popular songs to present Boca Raton’s historical development starting from its 1920s boom period until the subsequent vibrant decades.

The production creates a time-based multimedia experience through its use of Boca Raton Historical Society collection materials. The city’s development from its small-town beginnings to its current status as a vibrant cultural center is reflected through the musical periods and their accompanying images and narratives.

Attendees are encouraged to make an evening of it. The event allows guests to buy food and beverages while they can bring their own chairs or blankets for relaxation. For those who’d rather travel light, seating will also be available for rent inside the venue for $5 cash.

The concert is part of the city’s ongoing Centennial Celebration, a year-long tribute marking 100 years since Boca Raton’s incorporation. Residents can learn more about upcoming centennial events and community history at Boca100.com

The city of Boca Raton celebrates its first hundred years through a performance which shows its historical past and its enduring commitment to progress.
