WESTON, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — The Broward Sheriff’s Office tells Boca Post that they have lifted the lockdown from Falcon Cove Middle School in Weston following an investigation into a gun on campus.

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives have resolved this incident. The school lockdown has been lifted and the students will be released momentarily. The investigation continues.

Shortly after 3:23 p.m., Broward Sheriff’s Office Weston District deputies responded to a call of a suspicious incident at Falcon Cove Middle School in Weston. BSO’s Threat Management Unit was notified to investigate.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a student overheard another student say he has a gun in his backpack.

The school is currently on lockdown while detectives conduct their investigation. At this time, no weapon has been found. The students remain safe inside the school. This investigation is ongoing.
