Child Shot, Killed In Tamarac

TAMARAC, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — Authorities reported that a tragic event took place around 3;29 p.m on Monday afternoon at an address near Rock Island Roads 5600 block area.

Deputies from BSO and Tamarac Fire Rescue rushed to respond to reports of gunfire within a home, at that location where they found a child with a gunshot injury upon arrival. Regrettably medical personnel declared the child deceased at the scene. The initial inquiry indicated that the victim was, under the supervision of his uncle when he came into possession of a weapon and inadvertently shot himself.

The detective mentioned that the details of the shooting are still being looked into.  The BSO urges gun owners to store their firearms and follow important gun safety guidelines for the well being of children and adults alike to avoid accidental shootings or incidents, like the one mentioned above.
