POMPANO BEACH, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — Broward Sheriff’s Office is actively working on shooting and crash investigation near Powerline and Sample Road in Pompano Beach.
Deputies shut down the westbound Sample boulevard at Powerline Road during the investigation.
The male suspect was walking westbound on Sample at the Shell station, all units were requested to respond.
Sources close to the situation tell Boca Post that one of the vehicles involved in the crash is a Silver Kia Optima (FL: HFDX09). The suspect got into an accident near Powerline and Sample road where he shot another driver. The suspect then fled on foot and stole a white utility truck and headed west on Sample road.
The suspect is described as a white male, with a white tank top, and tattoos on both arms, and he was said to be bleeding.
Coral Springs and Coconut Creek may have made contact with the suspect at the Shell station at 4701 Sample Road. The three agencies then coordinated a show-up to identify the suspect that was in custody in Coconut Creek.
The suspect is in custody. He has been transported to a local hospital.

Just after 2 p.m., Broward Regional Communications received a call about a crash and a shooting at Powerline Road and West Sample Road in Pompano Beach. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. All traffic lanes at the intersection of Powerline Road and West Sample Road are shut down as detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes until further notice.
