POMPANO BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — The Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are looking into an accident that occurred between a car and a motorcycle.
Around 6:30 a.m on Friday morning on November 8th Broward County Regional Communications got a call about a collision with injuries in the 300 block of West Copans Road in Pompano Beach. Deputies, from BSO and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue were dispatched to the scene.
The initial investigation showed that a 2004 Ford Escape was leaving the Marathon gas station parking lot on the side of the road with plans to turn left and head west on Copans Road. A Harley Davidson bike from 2023 was heading east on West Copans Roads left thru lane near the 300 block when a Ford suddenly crossed all three eastbound lanes causing a collision with the motorcycle at an intersection in a T bone style impact leading to the rider being thrown off in a northeast direction and landing in the far left westbound, thru lane.
Both individuals were taken to Broward Health North by Pompano Beach Fire Rescue personnel; the motorcyclist was tragically declared deceased while the Ford driver received treatment, for life threatening injuries.
