A man has died weeks after a hit-and-run traffic crash that occurred in unincorporated Central Broward County, and Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
BSO detectives say that on June 30, a deputy took a delayed crash report from the victim, who was unable to provide a precise location for the crash. The investigation revealed that the victim and another driver were involved in a minor traffic crash. As the victim exited his 2000 Nissan Maxima, the driver of the other vehicle struck him and fled the scene. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.
According to the Broward Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim died on July 21, from injuries sustained in the crash. BSO’s traffic homicide detectives were notified of the victim’s passing on July 28 and began an investigation.
