Both Levine and Merritt are recovering from their injuries at Delray Medical Center.

According to an arrest affidavit submitted by PBSO, Levine confronted Merritt at Hole 15 of Kings Point Golf Course about Merritt having his dog on the course.

That is when, according to Merritt, Levine pulled a handgun out and fired at him several times. Merritt estimates he was shot 5 times as he ran and tried to take shelter behind a tree. Merritt was struck by a bullet in the ankle and fell to the ground. Witnesses say they then saw Levine retreat to his golf car where he grabbed a golf club which he then used to beat Merritt with.

PBSO deputies found 4 spent 9 MM shell casings on the ground near where the shooting occurred. Deputies also report that they found golf clubs with what they believed to be blood on them as well as a Springfield Armory 9 MM handgun.
