POLICE: Boca Raton Burger King Employees Assaulted

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2021) — Boca Raton Police arrested a man for assaulting Burger King employees with a screw driver.

On 11/11/21 the Boca Raton Police Department was notified about a aggravated assault in progress at the Burger King located at 175 N Federal Highway in Boca Raton, FL. Responding officers arrived and immediately located the suspect in question. The suspect, later identified as 41 year old Burnell Maloy of Wilton Manors, FL, was taken in to custody without incident.

According to the BRPD police report, the Maloy was observed by several witnesses violently banging on the counter with a screwdriver. Maloy said “i’m going to kill you and i’m going to stab all of you with this screwdriver”. Maloy is accused of threatening multiple employees. Maloy then allegedly threw ketchup and mayonnaise packets at one of the employees.

One of the customers said they heard Maloy call everyone a “Bitch”. Three customers said they observed Maloy banging on the plexiglass shield with the screwdriver.

Officers were able to locate a screwdriver matching the description provided by witnesses in a bag that was at the table Maloy was sitting at when officers arrived. Maloy was transported to Boca Regional Medical Center and then after he was medically cleared he was then transported to the Palm Beach County Jail where he still sits. He is facing the following charges:

  • 2 Counts of 784.021 1a (Ft) Aggravated Assault – Weapon – W Deadly Weapon Without Intent to Kill
  • 2 Counts of 784.03 1a1 (Mf) Battery – Touch or Strike
