BOCA RATON, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — A couple got into a heated argument in the very early hours of the morning on 12/1/21 which turned physical, and then when friends got involved it almost became much worse as multiple guns were pulled and a fight broke out.
According to an arrest report submitted by the Palm Beach County Sherriff’s deputy who followed up on the incident, it all started when a 29-year-old man came home from work late to his apartment located in The Arium apartments off Boca Del Mar. One of the victims, the suspect’s girlfriend asked him why he was home so late from work and then he allegedly became very aggressive. The girlfriend alleges that the suspect was under the influence and reports that he uncontrollably damaged property within their home. The suspect allegedly grabbed his girlfriend with one hand and squeezed her face. The girlfriend was then able to get free and locked herself in the bathroom where she contacted two of her friends via her cell phone.
Two of the girlfriend’s friends responded to the residence to help her leave the apartment. The girlfriend gave her friends permission to enter the residence where they both encountered the aggressive boyfriend. The suspect was observed coming downstairs with a gun in his hand. One of the friends then pulled his own firearm and pointed it at the suspect. The suspect then charged one of the friends and they both became engaged in a physical tussle. Both men dropped their firearms during the fight. One of the friends was able to restrain the suspect long enough for the girlfriend to leave her apartment safely. All 3 then left the apartment without further incident.
About 7 hours later, at 11:00 am, the girlfriend and the 2 friends visited PBSO’s District 7 Office at 17901 US Hwy 441 to report the incident. Deputies took statements from all 3 and later returned to the apartment where the suspect was and arrested him on the following charges:
- 1 count of 784.03(1A1) SIMPLE BATTERY DOMESTIC
- 2 counts of 784.045(1A2) AGGRAVATED BATTERY W/ DEADLY WEAPON
The suspect was booked on 12/1 at 9:36 PM and released after a 48-hour hold on 12/3 at 1:23 am with a $5,000 bond.
