BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — 4 suspects are now starving as they have been arrested for engaging in a business of stealing gasoline in large quantities.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office Burglary Apprehension Team (B.A.T.) and the Pembroke Pines Police Department put an end to their plan.

The source said the group stole large quantities of diesel gasoline from gas stations within the county. On Tuesday, March 4, BSO detectives got information that the group was still causing trouble at a Wawa gas station in Oakland Park at 1675 West Oakland Park Blvd.

When on scene, detectives saw a Honda Odyssey which was parked right above an underground fuel cap and had a hose connected to it to siphon fuel. Two other vehicles, a Ford Expedition and a Ford Transit van, served as transport vehicles for the stolen fuel. A short time later, the Honda Odyssey and the Ford Expedition headed off to the Chevron gas station at 3099 West Oakland Park Blvd., and that is where detectives pulled over Blas Duran, Eusebio Claro and Noel Gonzalez. Orlando Diaz was apprehended in the Ford Transit van near the Wawa gas station.

When the investigation continued, detectives found that the cars had been customized to hold an extra large tank and most of the cars were filled with fuel. The fuel was being drawn from the underground tank and being pumped into the Honda Odyssey. The group then transferred the fuel into 1,000 gallon fuel tanks of the Ford Transit van whereas one of the men in the Ford Expedition was covering for the others.

The suspects are facing charges of retail fuel theft, unlawful conveyance of fuel and grand theft.
