Detour – Giant Sinkhole Still Causing Traffic Issues In Boynton Beach

Lawrence Road is currently inaccessible south of Boynton Beach Boulevard (S.R. 804) due to an urgent repair of the water line.

If you’re heading south on Lawrence Road, you will be redirected west onto Boynton Beach Boulevard towards S. Military Trail and Woolbright Road. The eastbound lanes on Boynton Beach Boulevard are also closed between S. Military Trail and Lawrence Road.

To bypass this closure, you can take either Old Boynton Road or Woolbright Road via S. Military Trail and Congress Avenue. The authorities anticipate that the roads will be reopened by Saturday, January 27th or earlier.

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — A massive sinkhole caused by a water main break continues to cause major traffic concerns in Boynton Beach.

The westbound lanes of Boynton Beach Boulevard have been reopened while workers are still repairing the damage caused by the water main break on Wednesday. PBSO blocked both eastbound and westbound lanes while crews worked to repair the water main break on Wednesday.

Lawrence Road, located to the north of Boynton Beach Boulevard, is also accessible. However, the eastbound lanes are still closed as they work on fixing a hole that measures 45 feet long and 10 feet deep. The City of Boynton Beach says that they anticipate finishing the repairs by the weekend.
