Jose Ordonez, 33, Arrested

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A Boca Isles South man is jailed after crashing a stolen security patrol car.

A Security Officer working in the Boca Isles South community called 9-1-1 to have 33-year-old Jose Ordonez trespassed from the Boca Isles South community.  At that time, Ordonez  was the subject of a possible residential burglary investigation the Security Officer was called to. The Security Officer then called PBSO just before 7PM on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023 to have Ordonez trespassed.  Ordonez had another idea. While waiting for deputies to respond, Ordonez stole the Security Officer’s patrol car, instead. The Security Officer tried to stop Ordonez by grabbing the steering wheel but disengaged when he realized he was “losing control of the situation”.

The car, which was clearly marked with “SECURITY”, sped off. As deputies were in route, dispatchers updated the call, advising that Ordonez had stolen the Security Officer’s car. The car did not get too far though, crashing near a PBSO substation on US-441 near Clint Moore Road in unincorporated Boca Raton. First responding deputies found Ordonez in the vehicle and handcuffed him. Ordonez was later transported to a local hospital for his injuries but remains in PBSO custody at this time.

Ordonez is currently charged with Grand Theft Auto.
