Khambrel St. Hubert Charged With Murder
BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — The Broward Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect wanted for the murder of Carl Jones who was shot to death on Christmas.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, V.I.P.E.R (Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response) detectives took custody of Khambrel St. Hubert for shooting another man to death last Christmas.
At approximately 9:14 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 25th, BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to a shooting call near the 2900 block of Northwest Eight Street in unincorporated Central Broward. On scene, investigators located Carl Jones who was pronounced deceased. A second victim, Jacolby Lewis, was transported to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. BSO Homicide and Crime Scene Units responded to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.
Through investigative methods, homicide detectives identified St. Hubert as the suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Thursday, Feb. 9, BSO V.I.P.E.R. detectives made contact with St. Hubert during a traffic stop. According to investigators, St. Hubert had an assault rifle in his vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to BSO’s Main Jail.
St. Hubert was arrested on one count of felony murder, one count of attempted murder with a firearm, and one count of carrying a concealed weapon.
