Jordan Carvajal Arrested. Investigation Continues.
BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A 21-year-old Boca Raton man was arrested for a rash of car burglaries and a car theft in West Boca Raton.
According to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a suspicious person call on Blue Fin Trail, located in the Boca Winds community in unincorporated Boca Raton, early on Friday, May 19th, 2023. The first responding deputy found two white males walking between cars and pulling door handles, seeing if they were open.
The deputy says he approached the suspects in “stealth mode”, driving up to them slowly with his lights off. Then, the deputy rapidly sped up and made contact with the two men. The deputy reports that both men looked at the deputy, paused, then ran.
One of the men, later identified as Jordan Carvajal, 21, of Boca Raton, was apprehended after a short pursuit. The other suspect fled the scene. Additional responding PBSO deputies established a parameter; however, the other suspect was never located.
Carvajal was found to have several credit cards, vehicle keys, window punchers, and driver’s licenses belonging to other people in his possession. Deputies also located a large number of coins, totaling $62, in his backpack, a tell-tale sign of burglary theft. The backpack also had an iPad, vapes, lighters, window punchers, and more burglary tools inside of it.
Deputies note that several items, including credit cards and driver’s licenses, were returned to victims. Deputies were able to link Carvajal to 6 different car burglaries in the area.
PBSO tells Boca Post that the detectives working the case are still trying to identify the other suspect.
