Phillip Clayton McCutcheon, 37, Passed Away

LOXAHATCHEE, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — 37-year-old Phillip Clayton McCutcheon of Loxahatchee has passed away after a high speed motorcycle crash in Loxahatchee.

The deadly crash happened just before 5 AM on Saturday, February 24th, 2024 near Okeechobee Boulevard and C Road in Loxahatchee. Deputies say that 52-year-old Daniel Munoz was driving a Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Okeechobee Boulevard approaching C Road.

At the same time, Phillip Clayton McCutcheon, 37, was driving a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R eastbound on Okeechobee Boulevard behind Munoz at a high rate of speed.

As both vehicles were in motion, McCutcheon attempted to pass Munoz, by entering into the eastbound lane. Unknown to McCutcheon, there was a vehicle that was traveling eastbound preventing him from passing. As McCutcheon began to enter back into the westbound lane, he applied the rear brake as the motorcycle passed over the yellow painted line, causing the bike to go down onto its side, tossing McCutcheon off of the motorcycle.

McCutcheon’s motorcycle impacted the pickup truck, causing damage. The motorcycle slid to a final rest on the north shoulder of the roadway. McCutcheon slid to a final rest within the eastbound lane. Munoz brought the truck to a controlled stop, just west of C Road.

McCutcheon was declared deceased at the scene.
