Patient At Colonial Assisted Living In Boynton Beach Injured After Caretakers Drop Her, Lawsuit Says

BOYNTON BEACH, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — A new lawsuit filed this week claims caretakers at Colonial Assisted Living in Boynton Beach dropped a patient causing her to break her left femur which required her to endure multiple surgeries to repair.

The following is a summary of the claims made in the newly filed nursing home negligence lawsuit:

Beginning on or about May 24, 2021, Colonial Assisted Living in Boynton Beach provided assisted living facility care and services to examine, treat and care for Core Roberts during her residence.

Colonial Assisted Living in Boynton Beach owed a duty to all of its patients to properly hire, retain, and supervise employees and to ensure that any such employees exercised non-negligent care.

Colonial Assisted Living failed to act reasonably in the care of Cora Roberts by failing to provide her with a safe environment including assistance with transfers appropriate to her needs, which caused her to fall during a transfer from her wheelchair to her bed on or about June 7, 2021, and to sustain a left femur fracture requiring two (2) surgeries and other serious injuries.

Colonial Assisted Living persistent neglect and breach of the duties owed to Cora Roberts was the legal cause of the loss, injury, and damages suffered by her which included a left femur fracture requiring two (2) surgeries.

While under the supervision, care, and assistance of Colonial Assisted Living, Cora Robert suffered injuries, including a left femur fracture, among other medical conditions.

As a direct and proximate result of Colonial Assisted Living’s negligent acts and omissions, Cora Roberts suffered damages including loss of dignity; humiliation; bodily injury; pain and suffering; disability and physical impairment; disfigurement; mental anguish; inconvenience; loss of capacity to enjoy life; discomfort; aggravation of an existing disease or physical defect; and medical, hospital, and nursing expenses.

It is worth noting that Colonial Assisted Living At Boynton Beach is owned by Regal Park Assisted Living Facilty, Inc.
