LAUDERDALE LAKES, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — An elderly man was randomly attacked as he exited a Lauderdale Lakes Walmart.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, an elderly man was the victim of an unexpected and aggressive assault earlier this month.

See the shocking incident captured on camera, below. The incident took place outside a store in Lauderdale Lakes when a stranger approached the man and delivered two punches to his face. Authorities from Broward Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit are now seeking to identify and locate the assailant.

According to investigators, this battery incident occurred at approximately 10 a.m. On Wednesday, October 11th, at the Walmart store situated at 3001 N. State Road 7. Surveillance footage reveals that as the elderly man left the store carrying a shopping bag, he was suddenly struck in the face by the assailant just after passing through the first set of sliding doors. The suspect is described as a tall and slender male wearing a navy sweater with grey lettering on its front, black pants and flip flops. Following the attack, he swiftly exited the entryway of the store and proceeded northward on foot towards Oakland Park Boulevard.

Detectives have determined that robbery was not a motive in this case since nothing was stolen from the victim. It is also important to note that there was no prior interaction or exchange of words between them before this incident occurred. Thankfully, although minor injuries were sustained by the victim as a result of this assault.
