Thomas Richardson Of Miramar Arrested

HOLLYWOOD, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A man attending a school function at West Hollywood Elementary School was arrested for bringing a gun to the campus.

According to the Hollywood Police Department, a man was arrested for bringing a gun to West Hollywood Elementary School. Officers from the Hollywood Police Department responded to West Hollywood Elementary School, located at 6301 Hollywood Blvd, just after 8 PM on Friday, August, 18th, 2023 after a firearm was discovered on school premises.

Upon investigation it was found that Thomas Richardson, who was attending a school event had left his bag unattended near a bookshelf. A staff member came across the bag and discovered the firearm, a Glock 9MM, inside. The bag was then turned over the the principal who notified Police. Police say that when Richardson tried to retrieve his bag he was taken into custody.

Richardson was arrested and transported to the BSO jail. Richardson has been charged with possessing a firearm, on school property.

While Richardson had a concealed weapons permit, Florida law does not permit him, or anyone, except law enforcement or contracted security, to bring a firearm onto school campus.
