FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (Boca Post) — Two 17-year-old girls were stabbed at a nightclub in Fort Lauderdale after they confronted a man who they say groped one of them.

According to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, they are investigating an aggravated battery that occurred on November 27, 2022, at approximately 1:36 a.m.

The incident occurred at SWAY nightclub, located at 111 Southwest 2nd Avenue in the City of Fort Lauderdale.

Officers responded to the area after receiving reports of a stabbing that had just occurred. Upon arrival, they located two 17-year-old female victims with injuries. One of the victims was transported to Broward Health Medical Center by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue with non-life-threatening injuries. The other victim suffered minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a group of friends were inside the nightclub when the suspect groped one of the victims. The victim pushed the suspect away from her and told her friends that he had touched her. The second victim confronted the suspect and told him to leave them alone. The suspect pulled out a pocketknife and stabbed both victims. Video surveillance from the business captured the suspect exiting the nightclub and leaving the area southbound towards Southwest 2nd Street.

The suspect is a Black male, believed to be between 30 and 40 years old, with a large build and short brush-cut style hair. He is seen on video wearing a ripped white shirt, with the words “POLO” across the front, a large gold chain, dark pants, and black shoes. Detectives encourage anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone with information about the identity of the involved suspect to contact Detective Tiffany Williams at 954-828-6617.
