FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — BSO is looking for a suspect who they say sexually assaulted and attempted to kidnap a woman in unincorporated Fort Lauderdale.

See the video that shows the attempted kidnapping below.

The Special Victims Unit of the Broward Sheriffs Office has released a sketch of a man who sexually assaulted and attempted to kidnap a woman in an area, outside Broward County. They have also made public surveillance footage of the suspects vehicle.

This heinous crime took place around 3 a.m. On Saturday August 12th, near the vicinity of West Sunrise Boulevard in which an adult female victim shared that she was sitting on a curb when an unknown man driving a colored pickup truck approached her. The man offered her money in exchange for favors. She declined and started walking away. At this point the man exited his vehicle grabbed her arm and compelled her to get into the truck.

According to investigators during this distressing incident the victim bravely fought back. Managed to escape from the pickup truck. Unfortunately the assailant regained control over her outside of the vehicle. Proceeded to assault her.

In spite of this experience the victim eventually managed to break free from him and sought refuge at a business establishment where she promptly contacted emergency services.

Surveillance footage from the area captures visuals of the victim running for help following this horrifying event. It also shows how closely, behind her was the suspects vehicle as she desperately searched for assistance.
After the woman entered the business the car was observed fleeing from the scene.

If you have any information, about the persons identity or know where the vehicle can be found please contact Detective Nelson Mendez of BSO Special Victims Unit at 954 321 4460.
