BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — BSO arrested a suspect who stole a Mercedes in Boca Raton early on Tuesday morning.

At 9:19 AM, Broward County Regional Communications received a report to be on the lookout for a stolen vehicle from Boca Raton. The Broward Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit and BSO Burglary Apprehension Team (B.A.T) detectives were called in to investigate. They used their investigative techniques to find the stolen Mercedes traveling south on Interstate 95. The car exited at Griffin Road and then turned back north on Interstate 95.

Detectives mentioned that the person driving the stolen Mercedes left it near Broward Boulevard and Interstate 95. They were picked up by a gray Audi with three people inside. The Audi drove through central Fort Lauderdale and later three individuals fled from it while the driver of the stolen Mercedes continued driving through Fort Lauderdale.

As per investigators, the individual was involved in at least three hit and run incidents that caused minor injuries. The Audi collided with a house in Fort Lauderdale’s 1500 block of Northwest 12 Court. The male suspect got out of the car and was swiftly apprehended by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries at the house. Florida Highway Patrol, Fort Lauderdale Police Department and Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue all played a role in handling this situation as investigations into it are ongoing.
