Bicyclist Hit By Car Near Fort Lauderdale Airport

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (Boca Post) — All traffic issues have since cleared following an accident involving an injured bicyclist near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

From Broward Sheriff’s Office:

Shortly after 4 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, Broward Regional Communications received a call regarding a traffic crash with injuries involving a vehicle and a bicyclist in the 3800 block of West Perimeter Road near the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies from the Airport District responded. On scene, deputies found an injured adult cyclist. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported the individual to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver involved in the crash remained on the scene.

BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene and are investigating the circumstances of the crash.

For a period of time, the roadway in that area was shut down.

The roadway has since reopened.
