FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — BSO arrested an unruly traveler at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Around 5:10 a.m. On Wednesday, January 17th, Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a disturbance caused by an individual in Terminal 1 at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport. A deputy from the Broward Sheriff’s Office promptly arrived to defuse the situation and calm down the adult man involved.

However, things took a turn when the man initiated an assault on the deputy. Realizing the need for assistance, the deputy called for backup and another deputy arrived at the scene, using a taser to subdue and apprehend the man. Following this incident, Anthony Costi (born March 5th, 1991) was taken into custody. Both Costi and the BSO deputy initially involved in this incident were taken to Broward Health Medical Center for evaluation.

The deputy was later cleared medically and released from care, while Costi faces charges of battery against a law enforcement officer, obstruction with violence and disorderly conduct.
