FLORIDA (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for an 83-year-old man reported missing from Naples, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
FDLE identified the missing person as Billy Hicks, 83, a white male with gray hair and hazel eyes. He is listed as 5 feet 10 inches tall and 165 pounds.
The last known area provided by FDLE is Naples in Collier County. FDLE’s flyer also lists a vehicle associated with the case: a 2026 GMC Acadia with tag LJM6688 and a North Carolina plate.
Silver Alerts are statewide notifications used to help locate missing older adults. For South Florida residents, the practical takeaway is simple: the alert can extend beyond the immediate neighborhood where a person was last seen, and the vehicle information matters because it gives the public and law enforcement something specific to look for on roads, in parking lots, and at businesses.
Authority for the alert sits with FDLE, which issues the statewide notice, while the local investigation and response are handled by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 239-252-9300 or call 911.
Residents who believe they have seen the person or the vehicle should be ready to share the location and direction of travel, and the tag number listed on the alert, LJM6688 (NC).
