DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Delray Beach is moving into April with a full calendar of public events, anchored by large-scale festivals, city-run programming, and community activities spread across parks, downtown spaces, and cultural institutions.
The City of Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department, along with local partners including the Sandoway Discovery Center and community organizations, is hosting a mix of family events, volunteer efforts, and recurring programs throughout the month. The schedule spans multiple locations, including Robert P. Miller Park, Atlantic Avenue, Old School Square, and the Delray Beach Library.
The month begins with Springfest, a two-day event at Robert P. Miller Park, 1905 SW 4th Ave., designed as a free, city-run celebration with programming split by age group. The event opens Friday, April 3, at 6:30 p.m. with a nighttime egg hunt beginning at 8 p.m. Organizers are directing the evening event toward teens, adults, and older residents, with activities including games, music, desserts, and prize giveaways. Participants are advised to bring flashlights for the after-dark format.
Springfest continues Saturday, April 4, shifting to a daytime format focused on children ages 1 to 12. Gates open at 8:30 a.m., with the egg hunt starting at 9 a.m. Activities include bounce houses, crafts, food, and traditional egg hunts. No registration is required for either day.
Also on April 3, the city is hosting multiple overlapping events in the downtown area, including the Florida Panthers Block Party from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Old School Square and the First Friday Art Walk running from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. across downtown Delray Beach. These events are expected to draw foot traffic into the central business district alongside Springfest activity west of I-95.
Environmental programming continues later in the month with the Greatest American Cleanup scheduled for April 25 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Sandoway Discovery Center, 142 S Ocean Blvd. The cleanup is part of a national initiative coordinated locally through Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful. Volunteers will focus on removing litter and improving public spaces as part of Earth Month programming.
Participants are required to pre-register by submitting a volunteer application to either the Sandoway Discovery Center or the City of Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department. Additional information is available through both organizations, with contact numbers provided for coordination.
The city’s largest recurring event of the month, the 64th Annual Delray Affair, is scheduled for April 10 through April 12 along Atlantic Avenue. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 10 and 11, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 12. The festival spans seven city blocks and features hundreds of artists and vendors from across the country.
The Delray Affair is one of the largest outdoor arts and crafts festivals in the Southeast, bringing a significant influx of visitors to downtown Delray Beach. Organizers expect a mix of fine art, crafts, and vendor exhibits, along with a steady pedestrian flow throughout the three-day event.
Additional programming throughout April includes weekly GreenMarket events at Old School Square on April 4, 18, and 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., along with a Community Splash Day on April 4 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Catherine Strong Park.
The city is also hosting a range of smaller cultural and wellness programs. A Twilight Concert is scheduled for April 23 at Old School Square, and an Artist Market will take place April 25 at the Creative Arts School. Full Moon Yoga is planned for April 30 at Old School Square.
Historical programming is also part of the month’s schedule, with the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum offering its “Ride, Remember & Discover” bus tour on April 18 and April 30 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The tour focuses on key sites and figures in Delray Beach history.
At the Delray Beach Library, Chair Yoga sessions are scheduled weekly on April 7, 14, 21, and 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. The program is designed as an accessible fitness option, with registration required due to limited space.
City officials and partner organizations are positioning the April calendar as a combination of large-scale tourism events and neighborhood-level programming. Residents can expect increased traffic around Atlantic Avenue during the Delray Affair weekend, along with localized activity in parks and public spaces throughout the month.
For residents, the schedule presents multiple entry points — from free family events and volunteer opportunities to major festivals and recurring weekly programs — with most events open to the public and spread across different parts of the city.
