DELRAY BEACH, FL — Four juveniles were arrested after Delray Beach Police served search warrants at four homes as part of an investigation into auto burglaries and at least 14 auto thefts, according to the department.

The Delray Beach Police Department said three of the four people arrested are juveniles. Their names were not released in the information provided. Police also did not provide the name of the adult arrested, the specific charges filed, case numbers, bond information or court status.

According to DBPD, officers executed the warrants at four homes in Delray Beach during the morning operation. Police described the investigation as ongoing and said it is connected to auto burglary cases and at least 14 auto thefts.

During the searches, officers seized an AR-15 pistol, several loaded extended magazines with 9mm ammunition, five forms of identification belonging to auto burglary victims and other stolen property, according to the department.

Police also addressed claims circulating after the operation that officers had targeted the wrong home.

“There has been misinformation circulating that officers targeted the wrong home. That is not true,” DBPD said. “The search warrants were executed at the intended locations, and this was a successful operation.”

Chief Darrell Hunter said the investigation reflects the department’s focus on finding those responsible for crimes in the city.

“This investigation is another example of the Delray Beach Police Department’s commitment to identifying those responsible for crimes in our community and holding them accountable,” Hunter said.

The operation was carried out with assistance from the Boynton Beach Police Department, Boca Raton Police Department and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office South Florida Criminal Apprehension Team.

The department also used the announcement to remind residents to lock vehicle doors, remove valuables and never leave keys or firearms inside vehicles.

Additional details, including the names of the defendants who may be publicly identified, formal charges and court information, were not included in the information provided.
