CORAL SPRINGS, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A fatal crash involving a marked Coral Springs Police Department vehicle is under investigation after an e-bike rider was killed Friday night near the 4300 block of Riverside Drive in Coral Springs.

The crash happened April 17, 2026, at 9:41 p.m., when Coral Springs Police Department officers and Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department crews were dispatched to the scene.

When they arrived, officers found that an adult man riding an e-bike had collided with the marked police vehicle. Officers began rendering aid immediately at the scene.

Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department personnel transported the man to Broward Health North. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The crash puts the Coral Springs Police Department at the center of the investigation because one of its marked vehicles was involved. No additional details about how the collision happened, why the police vehicle was in the area, or whether the officer inside was injured were released in the department’s initial account.

Police have not yet publicly identified the man who died.

The site of the crash, along Riverside Drive in Coral Springs, is now part of an active traffic homicide investigation. That means the case remains open, the sequence of events is still being reviewed, and investigators may continue collecting physical evidence, witness statements, and any available video from the area.

For residents, the immediate takeaway is simple: the case is not closed, and investigators are still trying to determine exactly what happened in the moments before the collision.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information related to it is being asked to contact Officer Reinoso of the Coral Springs Police Department at [email protected] or 954-346-1268.

The department has not announced any road closures tied to the investigation, and it has not released further information about possible next steps, including whether additional findings will be made public after the investigation advances.

What is clear is that the crash involved an e-bike rider and a marked Coral Springs police vehicle, ended in a fatality, and now falls under an ongoing local investigation in Broward County.
